Scenic Bus Tour #3
Parsons to Canaan along Rt. 72 and River Rd. & the Dryfork River
and OtterCreek Wilderness Area,Waterfalls & Swim Holes
With large touring windows in every direction, let us do the driving and you and your group can enjoy the sites and each others company.
We will drive slowly, stop often, plan scenic breaks to enjoy snacks and drinks,
and keep the whole agenda fluid to the will of the parties on tour!
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life,
and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
-Henry David Thoreau
This trip is really spectacular.
Includes: Short Hikes, Swim options, Waterfalls, River, Creeks, History / Abandonment, Picnic Spots, Immersion to experience all of it!
In this version of the excursion, we are focused much more on gentle hiking and swimming (or touring if swim is not of interest). Much more gentle version of the rigorous hike and swim that included Kennedy Falls.
Spring / Summer / Fall only during non-snow and non-ice conditions.
This excursion is great during dryer / warmer months in summer when many waterfalls dry up... but not these waterfalls or swim holes fueled by the Blackwater River.
We will also stop at the Douglas (Coketon) coke ovens along the way for a bit of history of Douglas and the coal era of Thomas's past.
As your guided tour guide, I will show you the best perspectives, hidden trails, stunning landmarks and scenery that you may miss on your own.
Bring swim trunks and water shoes.... can change in the bus.
